  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp sea salt adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp black pepper freshly cracked
  • 1 plank cedar plank soaked 30 minutes
  • 1 each lemon wedges
  • 2 tbsp fresh herbs dill or parsley

Method

  1. Soak cedar plank 30 minutes; preheat grill to medium‑high (~230 °C/450 °F).
  2. Pat salmon dry, rub with olive oil, salt, pepper (add smoked paprika optional).
  3. Place plank on grill until it smokes (~2 mins), then lay salmon skin-down.
  4. Close lid and grill 4 mins; look for shiny surface and firm edges.
  5. Flip salmon, grill 1 more min, then remove and rest 2 mins before serving.

Notes

Pre-soaking the plank prevents flare-ups and adds smoky aroma—don’t skip it!
