  • 3 medium heirloom tomatoes sliced ¼-inch thick
  • 1 8 oz fresh mozzarella sliced
  • a handful fresh basil leaves
Oils & Condiments
  • to taste extra-virgin olive oil for drizzling
  • to taste flaky sea salt
  • to taste fresh cracked black pepper

Method
 

  1. Let tomatoes and mozzarella sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  2. Slice tomatoes and mozzarella evenly.
  3. Layer tomato, mozzarella, and basil on a plate.
  4. Drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Add balsamic reduction if desired and serve immediately.
