Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 340 g penne pasta or pasta of choice
  • 30 ml olive oil
  • 1 large yellow onion diced
  • 450 g ground turkey
  • 10 g salt divided
  • 0.5 g black pepper
  • 1 g Italian seasoning
  • 5 cloves garlic minced
  • 16 g all-purpose flour
  • 480 ml low-sodium chicken broth
  • 425 g can of tomato sauce
  • 240 ml half-and-half
  • 115 g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 115 g shredded cheddar cheese
Garnish
  • to taste Fresh parsley to garnish
  • to taste Red chili flakes optional, to garnish

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta in salted water 1-2 min less than package, reserve 1 cup water, then drain.
  2. Sauté onion in oil for 5 min.
  3. Add turkey, brown, season, then add garlic last.
  4. Sprinkle flour, stir 1 min.
  5. Pour in broth and tomato sauce, simmer 5-10 min.
  6. Add pasta and half-and-half, stir gently.
  7. Mix in half the cheese, top with remaining, cover to melt.
  8. Garnish with parsley and chili flakes, serve hot.

Notes
